Not Good Enough

I'm climbing. It's steep. It's hard. I'm exhausted, but I must keep climbing.

I'm ready to give up. I desperately want to quit, but I cannot.

I'm almost there. I can see the top.

I falter. I'm getting a cramp. I'm sweaty.

Whew, I made it. The view from up here is glorious.

I'm up on my soapbox and 'bout to throw some major shade. Warning! There's cussing because I want to do cussing and very few commas because I don't want to do commas. In the immortal words of Howard Beale, "I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore."

Here goes:

To the makers of the POS Whirlpool Duet front load energy efficient washer/dryer I had to rob a bank to buy which neither washes nor dries worth a damn: NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

To t-shirt manufacturers/clothing stores who offer only crew neck and not the more flattering v-neck shirt: NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

To the season seven writers of The Walking Dead: NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

To the POS foundation repair company who has torn up my house no less than three times and taken no less than 60 benjamins (that's $6,000 for those of you not in the know) right up out of my pocket to fix my still faulty foundation: NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

To the soulless people working in doctor's offices and for POS insurance companies who couldn't possibly care any less that their total indifference and incompetence causes immense and unnecessary suffering for people who have already had enough suffering and pain for three lifetimes: NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

To customers at Market Street (and anywhere else for that matter) who are douchebags to mentally challenged employees who are performing a valuable service for very little money: NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

To my former hairstylist who was always on his period and who could only occasionally be bothered to slow down long enough to cut my hair evenly and who always insisted I pay his outrageous and ever changing fee in cash: NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

To all politicians (regardless of party affiliation) who can't get their shit together and figure out how we (as arguably the greatest country on this Earth or at the very least in the top five of the greatest) can prevent each and every single one of our citizens from dying due to inadequate or no healthcare coverage at all while insurance companies are making record breaking billion dollar profits: NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

To my gym (yes I go to the gym multiple times a week and yes I'm aware you can't tell it by looking at me) that is super concerned about the number of towels I use but not super concerned about repairing their broken equipment in a timely manner: NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

To companies that force you to go through a voicemail maze on the phone in an effort to frustrate the hell out of you so that you'll just go away and they won't have to deal with you: NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

To people who say things like this: "Well, I've never really personally experienced discrimination and/or misogyny and/or prejudice and/or unwanted sexual advances and/or whatever other crap people deal with BUT I just don't believe that it's really all that bad blah blah blah blah blah blah": NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

To the multi-millionaire executives in charge of the airline industry which has huge problems too numerous to mention: NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

To companies more interested in me filling out their stupid customer service surveys than actually providing good customer service to start with: NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

To my internet service provider that can't manage to provide me reliable service for more than a day or two at a time and who I can't quit because they are the only company that provides service to my area: NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

As you can imagine -- I can go on and on and on and on but I will spare you and climb down off my soapbox and just hope this list is GOOD ENOUGH for now because ya gotta know I'll add to it soon enough. Please hit me up on Facebook or if you'd rather through email ( to add your own Howard Beale MAD AS HELL comments. What's bugging you? What gets you goin'? Get it off your chest. It'll make ya feel better. And, don't forget to check out Howard in all his glory by clicking on the link below.

Keep in mind, this was filmed over forty years ago.
